I can not open msn hotmail email using mac os x 10.6.8. What browser should I download? MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8) Posted on Oct 7, 2014 12:53 PM. Surprise, works pretty well. Doesn't crash on my OSX 10.6.8. I Usually don't have much good to say about Opera browser because of the CPU use (Firefox is same issue), the opera mail makes sense as it never really made sense to use Opera Browser Mail. Pretty good designed for initial release.
Opera Browser For Mac Os X 10.6.8I usually keep my macs as long as I can. My only problem now is the browsers. Firefox, Chrome and Safari don't seems to want to support 10.5.8. At least FF and Safari run but there are some sites I visit that don't work well with those old versions and the new versions can't be installed on 10.5.8.
Any suggestions on a browser that will let my macs live a little longer?

If you get told that it's incompatible with your computer or otherwise desired, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, order a download code for Lion 10.7; the online Apple Store also sells download codes for Mountain Lion 10.8, but it has the same system requirements as El Capitan.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.
